Unadkat returns to Team India after 12 years: last played in 2010 Against South Africa, will replace Shammi due to injury

Jaydev Unadkat will replace Mohammed Shami for the Test series against Bangladesh starting December 14. He is returning to Team India after 12 years. Jaydev Unadkat played the only Test for India in South Africa in 2010 and did not get a chance after that. According to a cricket website, Saurashtra bowlers will soon join Team India in Chattogram. Presently he is in Rajkot. He will leave for Bangladesh after the completion of visa formalities.

Jaydev Unadkat is the second player to be included in the two-Test series against Bangladesh due to injury. Earlier on Friday, Abhimanyu Easwaran was called to Chattogram in place of captain Rohit Sharma. Abhimanyu is with Team India A in Bangladesh itself.

Jaydev Unadkat's excellent performance in the domestic tournament

Jaydev Unadkat has had a stellar run this season in the domestic tournament. In the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy, Unadkat took 19 wickets in 10 matches. At the same time, he was the highest wicket-taker in the 2019-20 Ranji season as well. He took 67 wickets in 16 innings of 10 matches. During this, he took 5 wickets in an innings seven times and 10 wickets thrice. Jaydev Unadkat made his debut for the Indian team in 2013. He played his first ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare.

Shami is rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy

Mohammed Shami is currently rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy. Mohammed Shami, who was part of the team in the T20 World Cup, was injured during practice after returning from Australia. His shoulder was injured. Because of this, he was ruled out of the ODI series. Shami also shared the photo from the hospital and expressed hope of returning soon.
